On holiday you choose an area for its beach clubs. For a year you choose it for the school run, the ride to your desk and how you sleep. Pererenan and Canggu sit next to each other on Bali's south-west coast and answer those questions differently.
Canggu
The centre of expat life: cafés, coworking spaces, gyms, schools and nightlife within a short ride. The price is traffic and noise. Check any villa here at night as well as by day.
Pererenan
Just west of Canggu, with its own surf beach. It is quieter and more residential, and a lot is being built, so ask about construction near any villa you like.
How to decide
- Map your week: school, work, gym, beach. Then check those rides at the hours you would make them.
- Visit after dark.
- Compare the year total, not only the rent.
